We’re back this weekend at Grand Lake. The Bernice area is my favorite park because it has the best staff, convenient access to water, and an amazing nature center.
My Person booked the best site in the park this weekend: RV site 21. It’s close to the water, has lots of room to spread out around the campfire, and best of all it’s got two spots to string up a hammock.
Nothing beats drying off in the shade after a dip in the lake.
The nature center here is run by Ms. Amanda. She’s paws-down the best naturalist in the state. She’s got lots of cool animals…tortoises, raccoons, prairie dogs, turtles. My only complaints are that she doesn’t have a penguin buffet uh…habitat, and she yells at me when I go fishing in her aquarium.
The camp host here is Dan. He’ll bring firewood right to the campsite and is always helpful with info around the park. He even takes me for golf cart rides down the nature trail.
The lake this weekend has been idyllic. Just enough breeze to keep the stuffing cool, hardly any waves so I don’t get rocked out the kayak.
